BENEFITS OF INDIVIDUAL OR SMALL GROUP TRAINING
Your child as an individual player: It is difficult to focus on the individual in a team setting. While team skills clinics and practices are great and very necessary, coaches are rarely able to work one-on-one with players and give specific feedback on individual areas of their game, because in this setting the coach must focus on the team as a whole and improving team play. If players are very focused and work hard they will still improve greatly at the team practices and skills clinics, however this process is highly, highly accelerated when combined with semi-private lessons because the coach is able to take the time on the ice to introduce new more intricate skills, break bad habits, perfect form, provide personal feedback and more.
The repetitions during a semi-private lesson are unmatched compared to any other time on the ice (team practices and games). The amount of shots a student may take in a private lesson and the amount of time they handle the puck will be far superior than anywhere else. Year after year, the students who participate in the lessons far exceed expectations.
EMPHASIS ON INDIVIDUAL SKILL
Times have changed in hockey over the last few years with rule changes and a change in emphasis. Now a player must develop exceptional individual skills on top of learning the team concepts if they want to move on to play at the elite level in the sport. The best place to learn these specific skills is with one-on-one instruction.
